Flight to Catania カタニア行きの飛行機

I had been looking for some volunteer work for collecting vine or olive, and I happened to find a project in Sicily organized by IBO Italy. It was my first work camp. First of all, there was a big surprise before the departure.
Two days before my departure to Catania, I started to print out vouchers or confirmation for flights, ship and also for hotel in Naples. One of my flight, flight from Vienna to Catania, I was not able to find any confirmation mail from the airline company. I called the company and asked to send me the confirmation as quickly as possible. Actually I booked this flight two months ago.

ワインのブドウかオリーブを収穫するボランティアを探していたが、偶然ＩＢＯイタリアのサイトでシチリア島での募集を見つける。初めてのワークキャンプ。まず出発前に予期もしていないことが起こった。カタニア行きの2日前、バウチャーやらフライトチケットのプリントアウトをしていたところ、行きのフライトの確認メールが来ていないことが分かった。カタニアからナポリ行きのフェリー、ナポリのホテル、それにナポリからの飛行機は問題ない。チケット会社に電話で問い合わせ、すぐにメールを送って欲しいという旨を伝える。フライトはもう2ヶ月も前に予約している。

The operator on the phone looked for my reference number and told me that my reservation was canceled due to the problem to charge the flight fee to my credit card. I did not get that information, he asked me if I received the email in my spam box, and there it was.

電話に出たオペレーターに照会番号を聞かれ、しばらく待つ。どうもキャンセル扱いになっている模様。ＶＩＳＡの引き落としで問題があって自動的にキャンセルになったらしい。オペレーターは、こういうケースでは必ずメールが届くことになっているからと、スパムボックスも確認してみて欲しいと言う。大事なメールがスパム扱いになっていた。

Just two days before the departure I did not have a booked flight. I had never had such the situation before. I quickly tried to book the same flight in the Internet and used another Visa card, but this time I was not able to think calmly. I did not check how much money left in my bank account for the alternative Visa card and tried to reserve the flight. I again got the mail with same content, again in my spam box after 4 hours later. It was already at 17:00 on Friday, no chance to transfer some money to my Visa card bank account, I had directly to go to the airport to book my flight.

出発に2日前にチケットが手配できていなかったことはこれまで一度もない。もう一度インターネットで別のＶＩＳＡを使って予約を取ってみるが、口座にいくら入っているか確認していなかった。４時間後同じ内容のメールがスパムＢＯＸに。金曜日の17時。もう銀行に振込みをするわけにもいかない。空港に直接出かけてチケットを手配するしかなくなった。
