Tono 遠野

On Monday, holiday of Tono Magokoro net, I did not have any plan for the activity. There was no "physical" activity planned on the day and many others had just day off. Mr. O asked me to go out together, he arranged a driver to drive around with us. We were to use the car which belongs to Magokoro net and were not able to use it just for private use. After coming to Tono, we had not yet seen the city at all. So inspecting (sightseeing tour) in Tono for today.

月曜日、まごころネットの休日、特に予定がなかった。体を使う活動は予定されていなかったし、ほかの人たちは普通にオフをとっていた。Oさんが運転手を手配したから一緒に“調査”に行こうという。まごころネットの車を手配したからには、観光という名目では使えない。遠野に来て以来まだ一度も町を見て回っていない。今日は遠野を調査（観光）する日になる。

The most famous place in Tono is Kappa-buchi, where an imaginary creature Kappa suppose to appear. Then we enjoyed Hittsumi, a local speciality which consists of dough and chicken soup. This simple dish tastes wonderful.

遠野といえば忘れてはいけないのが河童淵。そのあとひっつみを堪能する。鳥からとった出汁のすいとんの様な物だ。この一見簡単な料理が、これまたうまい。

After lunch, we drove up to the mountain where we could have a whole view of Tono city.

昼食の後、遠野市内を一望できる山の上まで登る。

Tono is also famous for Jingiskan-nabe, so to say lamb and mutton barbeque. Quite interesting to know that they used to keep sheep more than 60 years ago and now they use lab or mutton from Australia.

遠野はジンギスカンでも有名。６０年程前にはこの地域で羊をたくさん飼っていたらしく、今はオーストラリアから輸入した肉を使っているそうだ。
